NVO TEAM

Ken Bariahtaris, Founder and CEO
Ken Bariahtaris has lived with his family in Morristown, NJ since 1990. In parallel with careers in Financial Services Operations and Consulting, he has focused recent hobby and entrepreneurial time on Clean Energy evolution. Motivated to act by the US intent to depart the Paris Climate Accord, as well as the observable emissions, noise, and less-than-ideal working conditions in local residential landscaping, he launched New Verdant Outdoors (NVO), LLC in August, 2017. NVO’s goal is to "transform residential lawn cutting / edging / trimming/ blowing into a Zero emissions, Low noise, Fair Wage service sector across the state of New Jersey (and beyond).”
Ken holds a BS in Operations Research from Cornell University, and an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Rick Bye, Chief Technology Officer
Rick Bye is a long time Morristown resident who spent 30 years as research and development scientist/engineer with Honeywell. In both laboratory and industrial environments, he was involved in the design, development, and implementation of equipment, processes, and materials focused on energy efficiency and low emissions in electrical distribution and aerospace power systems. He continues to do contract work for Honeywell as an independent consultant.
Rick holds BS and MS degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from MIT. Now that he is semi-retired, and spends more time at home during the day, Rick has become acutely aware of the noise and disruption to the neighborhood caused by gas powered lawn care services.
